Once I had this little orange tree. Then it died. I left the twiggy orange tree sitting in its pot for a couple of months while I considered what to replace it with. Then one day it began to sprout new, green leaves. It was an orange tree miracle. Then one day, my baby girl found those new, green leaves and plucked them all off. She left a pinwheel in their place. The end.
Ooooh! What an awesomely sad story. Love it.
ReplyDeletehahaha!! Oh no -- funny and terrible!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I laugh every time I read it (and I've read it several times today!)
ReplyDeleteAwful, isn't it? Had she not stuck the pinwheel in there I might have lost it but it was just so funny -and typical. Ah, Kate...love that baby girl.
ReplyDeleteWho knows -maybe it will survive again? If so, Christie, I'll bring it to you next week. I think it will have better luck in Florida:)
She might be on to something. Container gardening with pinwheels . . . always a blossom. . . looks great in the winter. . . low maintenance. I like it! Way to think outside the box, Baby Kate!
ReplyDeletePerhaps she's read Kevin Henkes', "My Garden," one too many times... she's just "working in her garden." Pruning one thing planting others.:) Thanks by the way! We love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteHehehe...such a cute thought, Christy. Glad you like it -I thought it had Tink & Mama written all over it :)
ReplyDeleteAWE-SOME.
ReplyDeleteI think that's how I garden these days!! That was too cute!!
