portraits | the wimberly family

The setting couldn't have been more perfect for spring portraits of the Wimberlys this month. Mary found a gorgeous park hidden away in Wilmington just full of blooming Azaleas where we met up late one afternoon for a photo session. She brought her sweet family, I brought my team of "helpers" and we marveled at the amazing scenery as we tried our best to make family photos as fun as possible (because let's be honest, everyone knows that taking portraits can be awkward and annoying and then you throw in the frustration of trying to get children to cooperate and smile and look at the camera at the same time...)
Well, I think the result was well worth the effort and I'm pretty sure a good time was had by all!

  1. Nice, vivid colors, Kelli. Did you edit in Picasa or Photoshop Elements?

  2. I edited these in Photoshop Elements using some Coffee shop actions.

  3. I can't wait until I have time to explore my Photoshop. I just bought a user-firendly book that's helping me learn more about my camera skills, so I'm working on improving that end right now. When I get to Photoshop, I'll have plenty of pictures to practice on. Thanks for sharing your pics and your techniques.

  4. So, so sweet! I love that you can really tell you're in North Carolina in some of these, with the Spanish Moss and water in the background. Looks like such a precious family! :) Great captures!!
