Tristan picked out and wrapped his gift all by himself (Star Wars!) Kenna was in charge of party hats (pink polka dots -a must.) Mom ordered everyone's favorite Thai takeout and tackled a cheesecake recipe for the first time (and it was GOOD!) Kate cuddled up for her own special tummy time after the others were asleep (she knows when to go after the most attention.) We hope Dad felt loved on his special day (and feels loved by us EVERY day for that matter.)
Happy Birthday, love.
your cake looked lovely. Happy Birthday to Shawn!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Shawn!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Shawn!! Thanks for always being older than us. :) hehe
ReplyDeleteThe cheesecake looked delicious! What recipe did you make?? I love the use of a sparkler for a candle! Looks like it was a fabulous celebration!
Sara, I finally used YOUR recipe for Coffee Brownie Cheesecake! And oh. my. So good despite being slightly under baked in the very center. It was a huge cake so there was still plenty of perfectly done coffee brownie goodness.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun birthday! Your cake looks yummy! And Dean always loved when the boys slept on his chest when they were babies.....so cute.
ReplyDeleteOne trick to getting the cheesecake done in the middle is to turn off the oven when the bake time is over and leave the cheesecake inside (with the door partially open) for 1/2 hour. Kurt's favorite birthday cake is cheesecake too. Happy Birthday Shawn!
ReplyDeleteWhat an inviting birthday party! Can see that you had the perfect special day, Shawn! Happy birthday from me and mom! We are proud of you.

thank you, Laura! I was puzzling over that because I know it would have been over-done had I baked it any longer.
ReplyDeletewhen are you guys coming to visit?? :)
The guys were talking about Sept. 19th. We would just come Sat-Sun, because J & C have soccer games Sat. morning. Will that work for you, since it seems like Kurt mentioned something about you having family in town right before that?
