Maybe all the delicious smells and tastes will encourage me out of the cooking rut I feel I'm in. An open farmers market, fresh herbs and dinner-on-the-deck weather definitely call for better meals than cereal and macaroni.
So far, we've enjoyed a lot of pasta with tomatoes and basil. If Shawn ever makes it home from the never-ending cross country flight he is on, I plan on making his favorite cilantro chicken tacos. Any other favorite recipes out there using fresh herbs? I'd love to hear them!

Oooh! Caprese salad with tomato, basil, fresh mozzarella, olive oil and balsalmic vinegar!! And I love dill with grilled salmon. It looks like you have the starters of gourmet meals all summer.

Pioneer Woman's Crash Hot Potatoes- I use Basil and chives from my little herb garden- they are SO good! we have these instead of baked potatoes with our grilling! She has a lot of recipes where she uses fresh herbs and honestly i have not made anything of hers that I didn't enjoy- Made the blueberry muffins the other night- delish!
ReplyDeleteThese look beautiful, Kelly! I tried twice last year to grow herbs, but was unsuccessful both times. This year, I planted a few basil seeds. They are just starting to sprout; we'll see if they make it! I love fresh herbs and would love to have a whole gardenful (like yours!).
ReplyDeleteGreeting to a very special mom on 'mom's' day! What a privilege for Kate, Kenna and 'T' to have such a Godly, faithful mom!
