My Sorbet Peony is getting ready to bloom again! I took some pictures of it the other day while lying on my back in the driveway with Kate attached to me in her carrier and Kenna sitting on my knees hollering bounce me mommy! bounce me! (the things I have to do to get a picture these days). I'm pretty sure my neighbor saw me and I'm pretty sure my neighbor thinks I'm weird.
Oh, but the result was worth it! Not only did I get a few great shots but I did it with my camera in manual mode for once. All these pictures are straight out of the camera. I've come to the conclusion recently that I'm a lazy photographer. I use my program mode way to much and then complain that the camera is not doing exactly what I want it to do. Um hello, manual mode, where you tell your camera to do exactly what you want it to do.
I get it now. I need more practice, a lot more but I think these little pretties will give me plenty of opportunities. Just as long as I'm willing to multitask and stay very, very flexible...(This last picture not the greatest but I included it in case you thought I was joking about Kenna on my knees. I'm not sure how I managed to take this picture without getting Kate in it though. Poor girl must have been quite smushed.)
Same here - I'm a lazy photographer. When I do switch over to manual, I end up taking some blown out pictures, get frustrated, and then just go back to A-priority.
ReplyDeleteI also just noticed you had a link to Where The Wild Things Are trailer. How cute does that movie look?
All of your recent posts prove that you are, indeed, the supreme multi-tasker. I especially love the new page header!
ReplyDeleteI have been shooting in manual, also, because I was so much happier with the results. This was a huge surprise to me, since I'm still learning!
Hopefully Kenna will develop artistic gifts watching the antics of her mom!
ReplyDeleteShe is a cutie and we wish her family could have been here with cousin Joey!love, d
Those peonys are going to be something else! Eager to see them in full open bloom. d
